Solar Project Supplied with LONGMAX Combiner Boxes Featured on Algerian National Television

On August 24, 2026, local time, Algerian national television aired a special report on the grid connection and power generation of the 150 MW Sidi Nadji solar PV project, delivered under an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by POWERCHINA Zhongnan Engineering Corporation Limited, a POWERCHINA subsidiary. The report highlighted the project's contributions to local energy security, the green transition and employment, showcasing China–Algeria green energy cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

In the National Spotlight: A 150 MW Solar Project Sets an Example

Located in Sidi Nadji, Biskra Province, the project is being delivered by POWERCHINA Zhongnan as the EPC contractor. It is a key project within Algeria's national 2,000 MW solar PV program and a flagship example of China–Algeria green energy cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to generate approximately 300 million kWh of electricity annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 280,000 tonnes per year. Its associated step-up substation and power evacuation lines will address gaps in the regional grid and strengthen its capacity to transmit and absorb the electricity generated.
